One day last winter, the gas station/mini mart across the street put "53 days until spring" on their sign, and changed the number every day. We had a very warm winter. A few days after the message was changed to "spring is here!" it turned really cold.

Tonight, the sign reads, "only 48 shopping days till Christmas."

Why on earth would the mini mart be telling us that? Ooh, I'd better stock up on candy bars!

That sign should say "Only 22 days until Hanukah!" Ack, it starts the day after Thanksgiving this year - so early! At least it won't compete with Christmas.

That reminds me...Pick 'N Save is giving away 3 free candy bars this week with $20 worth of groceries. I've been to the store twice, and spent that much but forgot the candy. Darn
