Good weekend. I was down at Cyn's all weekend.
On Saturday, we spent much time cleaning, and then went out to a friend's place. We chatted a while, and then went out to eat with his brother, his brother's fiancee (the three of them share an apartment) and his little sister. Then we played cards for a while. It was fun.
Sunday's project was going to be cleaning out Cyn's attic crawlspace. I'd been hoping to get to that project for quite a while. There is a small door (2' x 3' high) leading into it from her bedroom. On saturday night, while I lay in bed reading and Cyn slept, there came a very loud scrabbling sound from the crawlspace. The cat didn't seem to care, so I suspect this is a common occurrence. It sounded like a squirrel was running around in there. There are a lot of squirrels around, and we often hear squirrels galloping across the roof. A couple of months ago Cyn found a dead bird in there, so we know there was a hole that things could get in. Whatever it was moved quickly across the joists like a squirrel might, but I'm not sure if the hole was big enough to let a squirrel in. When I finally did go in there the next day, I found the hole, and there was a tunnel in the insulation lined with grass and maple seeds, with some feathers lying around. Before too long, I saw a mouse silhouetted against the light. After he went outside, I jammed a board in the opening. I hope he was the only one home, but we probably won't be so lucky. We went out and got some spray expandable foam to plug the hole, so I don't think many more critters will be coming in.
After supper, and a few games of Boggle, Cyn and I went to see the Violent Femmes at the Oriental Theater. That theater just blows me away every time I see it. Just beautiful. We had front row seats, but I didn't realize seats seven and eight (counting from the center aisle) would be right in front of the speakers. My left ear is not too good today. Other than that, it was a great show. Lots of fun. We didn't dance much, being in the front row, but that's okay. Brian was sounding great, and Victor was acting goofy.
