I was feeling well enough to go to work on friday. On saturday, I felt a little tired, but not too bad. On sunday, I felt fine. Today, I have a scratchy throat, and I don't feel quite right. I didn't get enough sleep over the weekend. On sunday, I woke up early because I was cold. Last night, I didn't get to bed early enough.

No, I wouldn't take antibiotics unless it was really bad - see comment by waning_estrogen, below. I definately need more rest, though.

No! not antibiotics! Not good! I had drug resistant streptococcus pneumonia this past year and then got ARDS. Overuse/misuse of antibiotics is the primary reason these common illnesses have become so deadly of late.

Don't let it go on too long without seeing a doctor, though. It put me in the hospital/nursing home for 2 months.

I don't generally take medication of any kind. I think it was just a virus last week, and this could be something different. Mostly just the scratchy throat.

good for you! my whining and irrational fears over the weekend has dwindled to some hoarseness and a little sore throat. probably just more fluids that aren't caffeine-loaded will fix me up. and you, too. that's one thing I always pushed on my kids, and it works. I just have never quite had the discipline to make myself do it. it's the old "do as I say, not as I do" number.

Nope. I don't do those. I don't trust them - either to keep me well, or to keep from promoting a superstrain of flu. The more people get those shots, the worse off the rest of us will be.
