My grandma was back in the hospital, briefly, again today. She moved into the nursing home on Friday. This morning she apparently had some sort of attack - another stroke, we guess. Within three hours, she was discharged, so I guess she is doing fine. We're a little more worried about the long-term ramifications. What if this is likely to happen again? She had been hoping to move out of the nursing home, and back into her apartment in a couple of weeks.

My dad doesn't expect to have a job as of Monday. Rockwell is making a huge amount of cuts, and he thinks it is likely that the entire marketing department (14 people) will be let go. They were already sending a lot of their work downtown. He's 58. Not likely he'll get another job. On the bright side, if this happens, he'll be able to work the gallery full time. That's important because he is moving into a new location, and he will have to devote more time to it. And he can do freelance work (graphic design stuff).

At least Nahima is back.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandma and your dad. That's cool about the gallery work, though. And I can't believe that your father is only 58 years old! The Kid's dad is 53! And my dear friend Bob turns 52 this year! And my big brother turns 50. Ah, well, that's what I get for hangin' with people younger than I am. Some of my 20-something friends have parents who are younger than I am, and I got used to that. Some of the parents at The Kids' birthday parties look like they're in their late 20's or early 30's and I got used to that (seems like more and more of the parents are in their 40's, though). So I'll adjust. :)

And, yes, the current ray of light is Nahima's return. Hooray!

Wow Kevin, definitely sounds like you have a lot of stuff being thrown at you right now. Sending a little energy your way for a quick recovery...for your own, your grandmother's and a little luck for your dad! Keep your chin up.

Thank you for the kind words. You're a wonderful person and I am truly glad I've been given the opportunity to know you.
