After Spetember 11th, the economy went sharply downhill. We, as citizens, were asked to keep spending money, to keep our economy afloat. The economy continues to do poorly, and corporations continue to cut jobs. Why are these businesses not asked to curtail downsizing? Wouldn't keeping more people employed do more to shore up the economy, than asking fewer and fewer people to support business? With more people employed, more people will spend money, even if costs rise.

Here follows an article about rising unemployment and job cutbacks.

Because that would mean that the president's rich republican friends would make less money! What kind of un-American idea is that?

I don't think so. What I'm saying is, it's more people spending money on more expensive goods and services versus fewer people spending. The corps will have to raise prices instead of cutting costs, so Bush's buddies will still make their money and the companies will remain in business.

The perception of how the economy is doing. Now, 3/4 of the people think the economy is fine (the people who still have jobs). My way, everyone thinks the economy sucks, because of inflation, but at least everyone remains employed. We need a candidate who says he will get us our jobs back.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that detail of the free trade agreements.
