After Spetember 11th, the economy went sharply downhill. We, as citizens, were asked to keep spending money, to keep our economy afloat. The economy continues to do poorly, and corporations continue to cut jobs. Why are these businesses not asked to curtail downsizing? Wouldn't keeping more people employed do more to shore up the economy, than asking fewer and fewer people to support business? With more people employed, more people will spend money, even if costs rise.
