My grandma frequently talks about a woman who goes to her church. The woman is black, and I'd be surprised if there were any other blacks in her small town.

Grandma told us that this woman's daughter married a white man, but then she got divorced. Then she married another white man! She thought this was kind of funny, but I have no idea why.

Sometimes I don't think we are ever going to get over this black white thing. I naively thought it was done in the late sixties when we thought we ended it the FIRST time. *sigh*

My grandma doesn't seem to hold it against them, it's just that she hasn't adjusted. Or something. Oh well. At least she never said anyone did a bad thing.

Yeah, a lot of times I think it is due to something that seems like a small thing, like focusing on the differences than just viewing all people as people that is the problem.However that is utopic and may be impossible.

I like to think we're creeping slowly towards that utopia - always improving, ever so slightly.
