water in my basement

It hasn't rained since that big storm last Monday, but something's not right with my dehumidifier, so there is water all over my basement floor. The damn thing's been running for a week, and the water hasn't been going into the hose, it's been going onto the floor. It's expensive to run, too.

Water in the basement is always a bummer... We lost a carpet because of a 10-inch rain last July due to a sump failure...

Re: dehum-bodiddley-fiers -- We decided to use the low-tech approach and catch the water in containers for use watering plants... This complicates leaving town in the summertime, because we don't have a hose long enough for one opf the locations...

ick.........wet or damp basements suck.......i hope ya get it figured out......
