I've always liked big cars. I've also liked Mustangs. That's why I have one, but more than one person has told me they don't seem like the right car for me. I think they just see me in a big car.

I don't care for the gas guzzling, but I do like Crown Vics and Lincoln Continentals. I want a car that I can stretch out in. And room for my stuff is always nice. I think I could sport one of them up enough - fat tires, slick rims, maybe an under-the-hood blower. Okay, maybe not the blower, but...

But the car I really want is the Thunderbird. Those T-birds make me drool. I really, really want one. The problem is they cost about twice as much as I can afford. 35 grand, maybe? The Crown Vics are probly upwards of 25. What do the Mustangs run? I got my current Mustang for just over $11,000, twelve years ago.

I might be able to handle one for under $20K.

I like that new car smell

Can we see a picture of your car? The names don't mean anything to me. I bet it's the same in reverse: we have a Mondeo and a Nova.

Oh, of *my* car? Sorry, I misunderstood. Sure I'll see what I can find. (If you want to look on your own, Ihave a 19990 Mustang in Twilight Blue.)

You're right, I've never even heard of a Mondeo, and I haven't seen a Nova in ten years.

Yours would be interesting, but I've got the idea now.

Is 19990 a typo?

I found a Mondeo page in Greek! Steering wheel on the wrong side, and we don't have an advert sticker on the side of ours, but otherwise pretty similar.

I think a Nova in the UK is different to a Nova in the US. I don't generally drive mine in desert rallies.

The Mondeo looks like a version of one that we have here, but I can't think of its name.

The Nova looks similar to that last seen version here. It was definitely a cheapie.

I drive an 87 T-Bird and I love it to death...best purchase ever, honestly...

maybe you could go with an older model?

Most T-birds are cool, especially the '90's ones (my friend had one he called The Money Pit), but even those don't make me drool. ;-) Actually, I prefer to buy new cars.

it's the old t-bird convertibles that drive me wild with car lust. the new ones are sexy too. remember the 70s models? took up 2 car lengths. oh, they are all good. any thunderbird would suit me fine, as long as it is a convertible.

The '59's are my absolute favorites. My mom used to have a 77 LTD. Just huge. That was the first car I ever drove. I loved it.

rented a mustang convertible for a couple weeks in hawaii........it was an ok car about kona, but had no guts.......kinda like a sheep in wolf's clothing.....i could never have one unless it was appropriately powered......rumor has it, that ford is bringing out another Mach I.......it might be fun for a weekend in the summer, provided it was equipped with a manual shift (or at the very least, a tiptronic unit).......last summer, i rented an intrepid for a couple weeks in FL and TN......it was a nice vehicle...plenty of room inside and it handled well.....

for our (anchorage) climate, rear drive autos are summer toys only, in my opinion.......front drive, AWD, or 4WD are the only options to look at for daily drivers.......

now when the kids are outta college.........Dad might just get himself a Miata to zip back and forth to work in during summer....sporty and economical.......and no drivers under 26 still on the family policy.......LOL
