even the huge bureaucratic companies are finding it profitable to pay within 30 days......when a contractor (client) asks me if they can pay in anything longer than 30 days, i just increase the price......if that's not acceptable to them, i tell them of the deal i have with the bank....i don't loan money, the bank doesn't make ground freezing equipment.....
several years ago, we started to offer a rather disproportionate discount for early payment....many of our clients have learned to pay early so that they can take advantage of that discount....e
Sounds like you're handling it pretty well. Unfortunately, we're just big enough, not to go for that. And the not pay for 90 days thing is driven from somebody high enough up the line that nobody in our division can do anything about it.
Well, there is one way around it. If what we're trying to get is essential, and the vendor won't sell to us, we use our own credit card. They accounting will reimburse us right away (even before we get our credit card bill). It's crazy.
then, you need to get a credit card that gives airline milage or something back with use.....as long as it's paid every month and no interest occurrs, they can be great deals.....
