Is it because a slim majority of voters voted for Gore? If so, stop bitching about it. People don't elect the president by majority, they decide their state's votes by majority.

not all states give their electors en masse to the majority vote getter.
that said, i'm glad bush was selected by the supreme court. it virtually guarantees 8 years of someone better next time, whereas if gore had gone to the white house, we would be mired in bullshit investigations by rabid republicans and then get stuck with a bush equivalent for eight years.
