I was going to make it to work almost on time, but my car didn't start. I was rather surprised to hear a click when I turned the key. I tried it again and there was nothing. I really don't know why. The battery was old, but I always figured I have some warning, like it would have trouble turning over one day, but it was fine yesterday and dead today.
Fortunately I have a battery charger, so I let it sit for about five minutes and it started. Since I'm not sure what drained it, I put the charger and some jumper cables in the car and parked close to the building. We'll see what happens.

Date: 2002-05-08 07:31 am (UTC)From:Heh, back when we were still trying to salvage the Lebaron the damn thing started to refuse the idea of holding a charge for more than five minutes after the engine was shut off. Eventually even charging the battery to full wasn't enough. Since we'd been through two batteries already, the damn car went off to the first buyer.. Who solved the problem by replacing the battery yet again (which was brand new, supposedly, but in actuality was the only serious electrical problem).
Just the same, I'm glad I got rid of the POS. :)

If it's not one thing, it's another.
