It's kind of long, but I think it is worth your while.
Let us pray that we have the courage and the will as a people and as a nation to shore ourselves up, to reclaim from the ruins of September the Eleventh our democratic traditions.

Where was he, I wonder, in September, when Barbara Lee, alone out of all the members of Congress, had the courage to take such a position? He says now that he hasn't authorized a war anywhere anytime, but actually he did just that.

Granted, I agree with his points, but I just get a bit pissed off when these congress members come out of the woodwork five months after they've helped to fuck everything up.

Yeah.

I think it *is* fear. Fear of his consituents. Or the fear of those things which he complained about in this speech, and he is only now realizing what he has done.

Well, better late than never.

Not only that, but some of this stuff has continued to accelerate since the first panic. I'm sure when this guy voted for the original anti-terror bill, nobody expected there to be an Ministry of Homeland Security, and our Attorney General sure has gotten pushier lately.
