holiday/vacation

I only worked for half a day yesterday. I went out in a fruitless effort to find some gifts for people. I really don't know why I bother. Seriously. I doubt if I have ever, once, discovered a gift for someone, when I was specifically looking for one. I don't even know how to do that. Gift certificate time.

I got a gift in the mail today. A care package from the marvelous Ms Fledermaus. It had a beautiful clue stick. Alas, it was broken, but it is impressive (an useful!) nonetheless.

I'll try to wrap some presents today. It would be nice to get the house in order too. Then I'm off to Cyn's, with a stop on the way for the aforementioned cert.

This vacation is going to be a busy one. Holiday celebrations start tomorrow. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Thursday is our anniversary. That leaves Wednesday, I think, and Bill wants to come over and do some plumbing repair. Oh yeah, then the holiday parties on the 30th and 31st. And no plans yet for the 29th or January first. Woo-hoo. :-| Seems like I'll be waiting for January for things to settle down. That's not what I was hoping, last week. I guess it wont be that bad. Those activities won't usually take up the whole day. I'll survive.

Every year prior to shopping, I make a list of the people that I'm purchasing gifts for, and decide what I want to get for them (it also coincides with my budget..lol). Then I hit the various shops where I know I can pick up what I want. If you're thinking that after browsing a number of stores for a few hours, the perfect gift is going to jump out at you... I'm not sure that it happens...lol
