LotR movie

Have you heard of many people who didn't like the movie? I haven't, but I don't hear much (I still haven't seen a single review).

I figure anyone who doesn't like it either doesn't have any understanding of Fantasy or expects to hate it because of some sense of sacrilege against Tolkien.

All the people I know who have seen it thus far really loved it. I can't wait to see it myself. I've never gotten into Tolkein, but I am not a detractor, either. I will go in with fewer attachments than the purists, that's for sure. I'll keep you posted, but my fantasy-reading friends have all been digging on it most profoundly.

my son saw it wednesday with some friends and they all enjoyed the movie......

and as far as people who may not like it....i say, "so what?"........

One thing that always irked me about the books was the lack of a consistent, strong female character. Looks like that problem isn't solved much in the movie.

We couldn't get into the 4:14 showing, so missed out. Maybe another day but now the weekend is here and it will be probably be pretty crowded.
