I was doing pretty well. I had over half my gifts chosen, if not purchased. But in the back of my mind, I knew I would get into trouble for the rest of them. I don't know what to get for my mom or my sister.

My mother said she wants a radio for her kitchen. That isn't very expensive, and I hate it when I just get them everything they ask for. My sister likes The Simpsons and mentioned a couple of books. Same problem.

There are a couple more people that I wanted to get things for, but I don't know what. I'll probably end up skipping those people.

When it's down to the wire like this, it would probably be just as well to buy them what they asked for. You can hope to be more original next year. Maybe you'll have more shopping time in 2002? At least you know they'll be happy because they got what they asked for.

Cyn has a good point.

And this is totally unoriginal, but when I have no idea what to get certain people, I often go the gift certificate route, and people really seem to like those. If they like to go out, maybe some certificates to a movie theater?

Just some ideas :). Good luck!

well, there are many kinds of radios....with options, colors, etc....i could see spending a bit of time to find just the right radio.....and that's what's it's about.......right?....spending the time thinking about the person that you are buying the gift for?.....if finding a gift is a chore, perhaps no gift should be given.....

my wife and i agreed that the trip over the holidays would be our gift to each other.......but i might spoil that......she needs a moose chaser.....and she's just now good enough with the slingshot to insure she's not going to hit them in the head......and she's horrible pitching rocks at them......soooooooo, i do believe a daisy red ryder bb gun is going to be the perfect gift.......as long as she doesn't shoot her eye out.......LOL

Get your mum a clockwork radio. They're cool and they work :) My partner (Mary) has got one and it's great. If you've got a sunny windowsill you don't even have to wind them up that much.

They look okay as well. I'm a stumped as far as your sister is concerned, buy her a saxophone? (grin)

Those are pretty cool. I'll have to keep those in mind. Actually my mom was hoping for a radio/cassete/CD player.

Sounds like the perfect thing for a boat.

Speaking of which, how are you doing? I haven't heard from you in about a year, I think. I hope things are as well with you as they are with me - better, actually. :-)
