It was one of those good news/bad news kind of days.

I took the afternoon off work to fetch a fender and replace it. I went home to eat lunch, and found a check for $1200 from the insurance company. That was good. Then I drove out to the salvage yard to get the fender, and they told me they didn't have it. The computer lied to them - the car had no front end. They didn't take down my name or phone number when I requested it, so they couldn't call me to tell me that. I was kind of annoyed at wasting some vacation time. And they have to order one now, so it will cost me twice as much because of the shipping.

By the time I got back into town, it was hardly worth going back to work, so I stopped by the gallery to visit with my dad. Then I went home and cleaned the garage. I actually have floor again! Then I cleaned the basement a little. I had to because I took some stuff down there from the garage. But I found some things I had lost for a couple of years.

It was a productive day, so I feel good.

if there was no fender.....how did he know it had "surface rust"?.......there's the chance you were out-bid?.......

I doubt it. I think they just hadn't updated their computer when the parts were removed. Who knows?

You know that feeling when you see 'floor' for the first time after, well, after too long to be specific about....? I always kinda visualize it as like this big chorus singing: "HALLEUAH! HALLEUAH! HALLEUAHHALLEUAH! HALLEEEEE UUUUUUUUU AAAAAHHHHHH!"

I love that moment. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
