It bothers me when poeople don't see the implications of letting Microsoft get out of control. You can't let one business take over and run the country. This is a democracy. You have to let them all do it.

wouldn't it also bother you to have goverment sticking it's nose into private business?.....MS is a monster, but like most monsters, they consume themselves in the end.......

without government sticking its nose into private business, we would all be working in sweatshops. capitalism in its pure form doesn't work any better than socialism in its pure form. you need some of each. same thing applies on the political front. pure democracy is as bad as a dictatorship. compromise in necessary in all things. the problem is, nobody likes compromise, so we have a bunch of people running around seeing the world in black and white. lucky for us, all that black and white has blended into a tolerable shade of grey, at least in this country.

*S*.....YOU might be working in a sweat shop......there in middle america.......(no offense intended)

actually, i have found that MOST people do like compromise.....perhaps it's just the people i've come in contact with.....

Perhaps, you need more government regulations (as much as I hate to say that).

When the major banks in Canada wanted to amalgamate a few years back... they had to obtain Government approval. The Government declined the request.

We already have quite a few gov't regs. They are just enforced unevenly. For various reasons - political pressure, overworked staff, media spotlighting, etc.
