I've got two days worth of friends' posts to catch up on, and I can't read anyone else's comments, let alone reply to them. :-(

It's been a nice weekend. Cyn and I went to my dad's for dinner last night. He and I consumed a bit more scotch than necessary, but it was still a nice evening.

My friend Bill came over to help paint the garage. It was very cold. It was only in the forties, but it was sunny, so some of the garage was warm. The paint was very thick. It's not done yet, but it's to the point that if I don't get any more done this fall, it will make it through the winter.

I realized last night, as I was sitting at my dad's, that I had missed my LiveJournal first anniversary. October fifth. I would have liked to do something special for it, but I don't know what, so maybe it's just as well. :-/

And I just saw this morning that fifty people have listed me as friends!

Your garage seems to need a lot of painting - it's taking nearly as long as my house move. ;~)

Congratulations on your anniversary.

BTW, two of your 50 are me, and two are zuul, so you're only on 48.

It sure does. It's just a samall two-car garage, and I (we) have been working on it for two months.

Why did your move take so long?

I suppose I'll be stalled here at 48 for a long time then. It's probly just as well. :-/

We went through one agent who got us no buyers, then the next agent found us two buyers who got bored with waiting for us to find somewhere to go. Now everything is ready to go with the third buyer, but there's a chain of buyers and sellers, and somewhere further up there's been a few legal delays. Farbel seems to be getting everything sorted a lot quicker - perhaps there's a better system in the US. Here everything is designed to take as long as possible, and generate fees for lawyers.

It doesn't always go better. There are often contingencies on the buyer selling his home.
