I got some of my Christmas shopping done last night. My mom mentioned earlier this year that she wanted an electronic keyboard. She used to play the piano, but now my sister has it.
A friend recommended Record Head. I looked it up and it was in Cyn’s neighborhood. Since I was going to go to her place I decided I would go down early and check it out. I didn’t make it. Not only did I not make it early, I was late getting to Cyn’s. But X-mas is ready to pounce, so when I got there I said, "you wanna go out?" She said, "it’s cold out there!" But she took pity on my desperation, and we went out.
Record head was on 84th and Hampton - or so I thought. It wasn’t there. So we went to Best Buy. [insert Mr. Yuk icon here] I would much rather have given my money to a locally owned store. But then, Record head is a music store, so maybe they would only have had expensive, professional instruments. I didn’t see the exact model of keyboard that I had decided on, on the shelf so I found a kid to help me, and he went off to find it. He walked down the aisle a few feet, and stopped at another keyboard to play a few notes. Then he made a jog over to the next aisle and turned on some speakers, and then danced off around a corner. Funny.
So I bought a Yamaha. I feel much better.
Later, we determined that Record Head is on 74th and Hampton. Oh well.
