In Afghanistan, it is a crime to allow your women to travel in public unless she is escorted by a male relative. The punishment for this crime is destruction of said property, by stoning.

I'm suprised there are any Afghan women still alive...this has been going on since the Taliban took over the country...No medical anything, full coverage of the body in the heat, stonings and murders and suicides from despair...It breaks my heart. Fanaticism is the ugliest and most lethal emotion we have...

In a traditional stoning, the victim is stripped and buried upright from the waist down. This arrangement allows the victim to defend himself from the blows of the stones, which are strictly limited in size and number. However, if the victim is a woman, she must be buried from the neck down to prevent her breasts from being exposed. Therefore, female victims of stoning have no chance to defend themselves. Female modesty is more important than her life.

You can't convince a nation to extend basic human rights to a group who is not percieved by them as human.
