"I feel I am in a dream. I never believed that one day the United States would come to pay a price for its support to Israel," said Mustafa, a 24-year-old Palestinian gunman.

and

"We are so happy that America was hit. America is against us supporting Israel," Suleiman, one of the demonstrators, said.

Well, I guess I do get it. Israel kills them. so we deserve the same death as they get.

Death is a way of life for them.

Why else?

Probably doesn't help that they've been taught to hate us since they were children...:(

I saw a Palestinian representative - an ambassador, I think - on TV last night, talking about the atrocity. He said, while he did not agree with what happened, nor did he in any way think it excusable, his people have suffered much the same sort of terrorism for 54 years. What happened to Palestine was *not* fair, it's true. But their ways of dealing with it aren't any better. Both sides of that viscious conflict are to blame, and it is again true that America, far from remaining neutral, has aided one side over the other.

That said, this won't help anybody's cause. The country with the largest military arsenal in the world is now pissed off in a big way, and no matter how rich the Arabs are, they cannot combat a country like the US.

It is an interesting thought though, spoken by one of the survivors at the WTC: What level of hatred would be needed in order to carry off something like this? Perhaps it's that issue that needs addressing most urgently.

Just a thought. Or three (:

PS: You're on a friend's friend list, which is why I'm responding out of the blue.

1. When the leaders say that the attack is inexcusable, is it a purely diplomatic move and do they really believe it was justified, or are they actually that much more aware than the rest of the people?

2. I don't imagine it will come to a military action against "that Arabs". Hopefully it will be a strike against the individuals responsible. Or preferably a trial.

3. The hatred? I think only our long-term unsupport of Israel would have any small effect on their hatred. That's the biggest reason, but not the only. I'd guess it is our whole way of life.

I welcome your comments. I like to hear from new people.

And he probably would agree wholeheartedly that the Jew had every reason in the world to hate him as well.

It seems like they think all the hatred and killing of each other is okay.

Death is a way of life for them.

Yes, it is, and individual lives are secondary to the greater "good" -- consider all the suicide bombers in the Middle East and the number of men they recruited for the suicide mission of yesterday.
