This afternoon I bought more thinset for the tile. Another 25 pound bag. I was hoping for premixed, but the guy said he was out. I thought unsanded grout was for tile gaps of 1/8" or less, but he said 1/8" gaps could go either way. And he recommended sanded because it's stronger.

Since I wasn't too far away, I went to Menards and found a drain pipe with a branch the same diameter as the tube coming off of the air gap. All the stores sell air gaps, and these long tubes made of thin corrugated plastic for diswasher drain pipes, but there are no premade drain tubes for the air gap. My local hardware store has spools of different kinds of tubing, but the only one they had in this size was doublethick, reinforced tubing for pressurized systems. So that's what I bought.

I spent two hours working on the dishwasher tonight. I removed and replaced our old ones several times, and I can't believe how difficult this has been. Maybe I can finish it up on Sunday. I got the electricity wired into the wall, but not into the appliance. I need to add a spacer block to the cabinet. That's what ended my work tonight. It's a two-person job to move the thing in and out of the cabinet.
