My total of books read is down this year, to 21. I think I'm usually around 30.
When I started the year, it was going to be the year of Tolkien. I was going to go through all my Tolkien books. I got The Hobbit, LotR and Silmarillion, but then I got Instagram. That took a chunk out of my evening reading time. I finally got that under control in the last month or so, and now I'm catching up on my backlog of magazines.
I think a lot of books, particularly fiction, get the heart rate up a little, before bedtime. I read The Sun, but the socio-political stuff either makes me angry or gets me thinking too hard. Nat Geo is the perfect thing to read late at night. It's interesting but it doesn't get me riled up.
Edit: 25 books, including the four I got for Christmas.
