it's only Tuesday

Yesterday I took a long lunch, due to the eclipse. It was cloudy, but the crescent of the sun kinda filtered through the clouds, so it wasn't a total loss. We had about 80% of totality, but it wasn't very dim - it felt like a regular cloudy day. I never felt that driving to where the eclipse was total was something I needed to do. But seeing the photos and hearing the stories of the people who were there, I feel like I really missed something special.



In the evening I went out bought some shelves for the basement. I've been feeling kinda antsy to get something done. I'm annoyed that the garage is at a standstill. They installed the overhead door a week ago Saturday. The electrician is supposed to call me to set up a day to come in and do the work. I don't want to start moving stuff back in because it might get in his way.

Gardening is generally slow in August, but it should be picking up soon.

Today Cindy and I took the day off to go to the zoo. The niece is going off to college, so we wanted to take her and her brother to the zoo like we used to do when they were little. But she doesn't like zoos, so we took Jake. So that was nice.

So today felt like a Saturday.
