Highland Games
Sep. 4th, 2016 10:52 amI went to the Wisconsin Highland Games yesterday. It was good. Hung out with friends, watched the events, shared whisky. Weird thing - I forgot my camera. A couple of people noticed this. One guy joked that he almost didn't recognize me. I didn't really miss it, though. Just once - at the heavy games. So just a few minutes worth of events. That wasn't really worth carrying it around all day.
I met a photographer contact I know from my Milwaukee group. He had asked the Games if he could shoot the Highland Dancers. They said yes but it would be his job. So he did that for most of the day... until he knocked his camera off the table. Broke the lens off its mount! He said it was about $6000 worth of gear, totaled. Fortunately it was insured.
