So far I've downloaded:
Whammer-Jammer, J.Geils Band
Memo From Turner, Jagger/Cooder
Not Fade Away, Rush
Hawkmoon 269 (live), U2
Jesus Christ, U2

I'm happy with those songs, but I'm not happy that I can't get any of the other songs I've found. Too many people want them.

I'm using WinMX. It is not particularly user friendly, at least not for the novice. Can anybody recommend another program?

I knew you had a preference, but I couldn't remember which one. I'll check that out when I have a chance.

Does it have enough users that I can find some rare stuff? After spendig a couple of days at WinMX, I'm already disappointed that I couldn't find one particular song, when I t had some others that I didn't expect to find. *shrug*

i've found a lot of stuff. they are starting to filter out some stuff for copyright reasons, but mostly top 40.

I use LimeWire....seems to be the easiest to download from. Although I can't always find what I want, depending on who's online.

I used to use Napster a lot, but I haven't tried anything else due to, erm, changed work circumstances.

There are a lot of alternatives...
