Our bagger at the grocery store last night used many bags for not so many items. One full-sized bag held only three boxes of cereal. Another had two boxes of cereal, two little boxes of plastic baggies and three other small, light items. When we got home, Cyn grabbed the half gallon of milk and the five-gallon jug of water, so I started scooping up the rest of the bags. They were so light I decided to see how many I could carry.

You know how when a grocery bag is full, you can't carry it in one hand, because the handles aren't close enough together? Since these were all half empty, there was room for most of them in one hand. I carried all but two with my left hand, and one heavier bag in my right. When I got in the house, I put that one bag on my left hand with the rest. Then Cyn carried the heaviest bag in, so I took that one from her too. I couldn't really hold onto it for more than a couple of seconds, but I bet I could have if I'd repositioned all the handles in my hand.

So the cereal boxes were expensive and light. And we got a lot of produce, which also tends to be light but expensive. The meat was very expensive, but somewhat heavy. We stocked up on value packs, so we bought a lot of it. This all went in seven or eight bags in total.
