I used the afternoon to finish up my project in the front yard. I redid the mulch around the birch trees. The first hour I was out there, it was in the upper nineties. The second hour, after lunch, it may have hit 100 degrees. The thermometer at the back of the house read 100°. That's on the south and sunny side of the house (though the thermometer itself is in the shade), so it may have been only 99°. At that time, I was working in the shade in the front yard. There was a breeze, but it was coming across the black road, so it wasn't helping. during my second break, the wind switched from the west to east, and the temperature dropped ten degrees. That was nice. The winery on the corner was having a party, and they had a blues band playing outside. They were pretty good.

It rained once in June - less than .40 inch. We've seen storms move through the area twice this week, but we never got any rain from them.
