Went out for dinner at Jerry's, for ribs, on saturday. The place almost went out of business. I think they're not out of the woods yet. We went with a bunch of friends.
Funny story: We sat at a long table, and I was in the middle. The waitress didn't feel like squeezing behind me to deliver my food or drinks, so she'd hand them over, and I'd grab them from her. When she brought our dinner, the plates were hot, so when I tried to take it from her, she wouldn't let me. I'm thinking, how hot could the plate be? and noticed she was holding them with her bare hands.
After that, Cindy and I went to friends' house to watch the village's fireworks. We got to see their new, fabulous patio (pergola, bar, fridge, fire pit, hot tub...).
Other than that, I mostly worked in the yard. I'm trying to redo the rock mulch around the birch trees in the front yard. This includes pulling the rocks out with my hands, ripping up some of the grass that has grown in over the rocks and sorting the rocks out, pulling the rocks out from the hostas, sorting dirt and other detritus from the rocks, and ripping out the weed barrier cloth. Then putting new weed barrier down, putting in edging, and putting the rocks back on. My fingers are worn nearly raw, from all the rocks. After parts of two afternoons, I think I can finish it tomorrow night.
Gaming tonight. We finished a chapter of our D&D thing. We saved the city, by exposing a spy from a neighboring city, who was inciting the peasants to riot and destabilize the city, leaving it open to attack. :-)
