Cyn wasn't feeling well tonight. She very often gets this weak, dizzy feeling on the way home. Maybe with a heart flutter. It's a "pre-beat." She's had that for a while, but never with this other thing. Then Tuesday night she had this thing where she couldn't breathe. Maybe like asthma. We decided it was some sort of panic attack. So tonight, she got this thing on the way home, but it never went away. She usually feels better after some food, so we decided to wait until after dinner. Didn't go away, so we went to the ER.

They hooked her up to the usual monitors (including the one that goes bing!), and did an EKG. Did blood work and took a chest x-ray. Didn't find anything. The symptoms sound very much like a heart attack or similar, so they gave her nitroglycerin. No effect. So that seems to rule out a heart attack. As usual, they didn't find anything, but the doctor wanted to be certain, so he said they'd try a couple more medicines, keep her overnight for observation, and if she was fine in the morning, they'd make her take a stress test. And there was one condition (don't remember the name, but it sounded like "angina") that it could be, so they'd see if they could find that.

Later, the nurse came in and hooked her up to a nitro IV. Says they're treating her for (somekindof) angina (something about spasms in the heart). This made us nervous, because that's not what the doctor said. But that's what the papers said. So we concluded that the doc was not as informative as he could have been.

Anyway, since she needed to remain under observation, they had to put her in ICU. But they didn't have any spare beds, so they shipped her downtown. *sigh*
