Why can't I figure this shit out? The Reverend Horton Heat was playing in town tonight. It's been on the schedule for three or four months. I've been meaning to see them for a couple of years (at least). Tonight was the night. They were sold out. Now, why couldn't I think of calling the place before we left? I mean, I knew a sellout was a possibility. I thought of checking their website just before we left. And knew that it wasn't a certainty that a sellout would be listed. What was I thinking?!

So Cyn and I had a drink at the Water Street Brewery.

I was able to get gas cheaper in the city, than it is out here. I saved a buck! Too bad I spent four driving down there and back.

I got a few things done around the house. All the lights are on the christmas tree. I spent the rest of the evening on the computer, but I got some things done there too.

Tomorrow, I go back to work and find my to-do list that I forgot to bring home. I wonder how much of it I got done?

I just got two comments in my e-mail from November 20th.

EDIT: Lisa says, in [livejournal.com profile] lj_maintenance:
This is an update on the current condition of your comment notifications that you may not have been receiving in the last couple of weeks. The good news is we believe we have found the problem and we're working through the back log of email to be delivered. The bad news is that it took us this long to find and fix the problem - and for this we sincerely apologize.

Since our data center move last month, we've been tackling a number of different issues with regard to email. When we changed the IP address for livejournal.com we were put on a number of popular spam blacklists as a potential spammer. This caused not only email from us to be blocked, but also more stress on our mail systems trying to resend all the blocked email. When our mail servers become slower to respond, we queue mail in databases to be sent at a later date. Once these queues became too large, however, our system to retrieve the mail and send at a later date also became too slow.

We believe we've now found all the blockages for mail and over the next day you will be receiving the backlog of mail not delivered in the last couple of weeks. If you are still having any issues receiving email after the next day or so, please do open a support request.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please, out of common human decency, don't subject us to that awful "happy holidays" logo for the next 20 days, not even the next 2 days, or even the next 20 minutes (though I know that's dreaming). Even though my interfaith home DOES have both a christmas tree and a menorah, that graphic completely smacks of tokenism and makes me growl unpleasantly at my computer, rant repeatedly to my spouse, and get unfairly impatient with my dogs. And it's just plain unpleasant to look at, even without processing any of the symbolism.

Please pass this along to whoever makes those decisions. That graphic has just got to go.

Thank you.
Personally, I was just wondering what the little person thing is, on the lower left. And I got a kick out of the NIghtmare Before Christmas style snowdrift.

Anyway, I'd say this person has issues.

Can someone come over and set up a network for me? It looks so simple. I mean, there's only one place where you even have a choice of what to click. I try it again, and there's nothing I can do differently, and sure enough, I get the same result - nothing.

Edit: My computer sees the listing for Cyn's but it can't open it. Cyn's computer shows no hint of a network. Grrr.
