weekend update
Nov. 9th, 2003 12:38 pmFriday night, I rushed down to Cyn's for tacos. It was Mike's eighteenth birthday supper. After a visit from his grandmother, Cyn and I went over to buy him a present or two.
While there, I decided to look at digital cameras. We'd been meaning to get one for a while, but only recently started looking. We ended up with a salesman who seemed to know everything there was to know about digital cameras. I had been hoping not to spend too much money on one, but I ended up going for a Canon Elph. I decided size (small) was an important feature. The thing seemed to be well made, so I think it will last a while. I was going to go for a 3.2 megapixel, but this one is 4. I figured if we were going to have it for a while, it might as well be a good one. It's pretty cool. All the features are easy to use. The pics are easy to upload to the computer. I like it. With this price, though, it's going to by our Christmas present to each other.
We got Mike the DVD of South Park's first season (the good one), so we watched some of that.
On saturday we got a bit of an early start, so we did some wall repair, raked leaves, went to a nearby cemetery to take pictures and then to Home Depot to buy paint. As were were walking ot a nearby restaurant, I looked up to see the moon at half. Something didn't seem right about it. It took me a second to realize it was the eclipse. I went back out to look at it when the salad came and there was just a sliver of silver at the bottom. After we ate, it looked about the same, but it was past peak.
After that, we painted. We put a coat of primer on the walls and ceiling. I wanted to do that because there was a large patch of plaster, and also because everything was blue.
Today, we're going to paint. Hopefully it will only need one coat. But before that, Cyn and I are going to look at a house. It doesn't fit in our plans right now to buy, but if it seems like a really good deal we might anyway. Otherwise, it's a good idea to get an idea of what's out there and what prices are.
