I still have a few irises, hens and chicks and crocuses left to give away. E-mail if you want any. They should be okay through the end of the week. (They make great gift ideas!)

The irises are purple and white, and fragrant. Medium sized - up to about three feet tall.

The crocuses are white, and bloom on branching stalks. They bloom in mid to late May - rather late for crocuses. In places in my garden they grow thick like grass. I have some other kinds that seem to be loners. These seem to flourish in bunches.

In April 1966, Time magazine asked in a famous cover, "Is God Dead?" The cover triggered an enormous controversy, especially at Emory University, where a theologian at the school had sparked debate by propounding something called "Christian Atheism." Now, all these years later, the answer to Time's question is clear. God is not dead, but he's on welfare.
