Aug. 3rd, 2003 12:52 pmThe northeast quadrant of the sky is clear. The northwest quanddrant is cloudy. The south half of the sky is dark, and I hear thunder. It's been like that for fifteen minutes.
In other weather related news, after all that water in the basement, I was talking with a coworker who mentioned she needed a shop vac to hopefully dry out a rug. So loaned her mine. Later in the evening, I realized I still had standing water in part of my basement where I didn't know there was water. I was sure how I'd take care of this, since I didn't know how to get hold of the coworker for the shop vac. I didn't want to sponge up the water, since there was over half an inch - it would take forever. I noticed some old foam that anyone in his right mind would have thrown away the first chance he got. In about one minute I had soaked up about a gallon of water. Worked slick.
