long weekend
Jul. 6th, 2003 11:43 pmI've got a sore spot on my shin. it's bright red, slightly swollen and very tender. I have no idea why it's there.
Saw Joe Bonamossa at Summerfest. Good show. Also saw a bit of Marcia Ball. A couple of times, I rather suddenly realized it was just her playing her piano - no bass or guitar. I thought it was the full band. Saw Daryl Stuermer do a couple of songs. Wanted to see The Thorns, but I guess they're were rained out. Not enough rain to bother me, but enough rain to make people who use expensive electronics nervous.
Cleaned Cyn's attic. Took about two hours. Cleaned my living room. Took about two days. Got the fan put in the living room window. Only this week did it get warm enouigh that I needed the window open. I hope it stays warm. I don't want to have to close the window. Actually, I'm hoping to to have to close it ever. I really need to replace it.
Grafton's fireworks were great, as always. Very smoky, though. The air near the ground was moving southwest (very slowly), and the air up where the fireworks were going off was moving northwest. We were directly west of the launch site (and almost right under them), so we didn't get smoked out.
The 'works were so thick in the finale that the smoke was thick enough to dim the display - if you had been under it. We weren't. Cyn and I walked about half a mile, and sat with my sister and her husband's family. The show lasted about half an hour, and half an hour later there was still smoke hanging around. Probably because it was so damp, and the air was stagnant.
Got my bushes trimmed, in front of the house. They look like hell because they were getting so overgrown that I had to cut way back past the leafy part.
Did a lot of walking. Several walks around the neighborhoods. To Summerfest and back. To the fireworks and back.
