"You know we had that thunderstorm last night and Jenna [4 years old] was just wailing. So I told her what my parents always told me. I said, 'that's just God bowling.'

She said, 'well then Michelle lied.'
'Why, what did Michelle tell you?'
'She said God is dead. How can God be bowling if he's dead?' "

surgery

My friend Derek had emergency surgery on Saturday. His back was bothering him again, for no apparent reason. The doctor gave him more meds. It was still bad the next day, so he went back. They did an MRI and discovered a tumor on his spine. They took him directly into surgery.

He's getting feeling back in his legs today. I haven't heard what the tumor was, yet. I hope he gets out of ICU by Thursday, so I can visit him before the weekend (since I'll be gone).
