"new" music

I've been digging out a lot of CD's that I don't listen to very often. I only have room for a limited amount of CD's out in my racks, so I have the rest in a couple of boxes in a cabinet. They're out of sight and mind, so I seldom listen to them. Of course, I put them there in the first place because I didn't listen to them much, but lately I've been giving them another shot. I am still not impressed with some of them, and others were still okay, but not good enough to drag out very often.

I did enjoy listening to belle & sebastian, Sunny Day Real Estate, Medeski Martin and Wood, Pisces Iscariot, OK Computer, Choirgirl Hotel, The Who BBC sessions, and some U2 singles.

I got an art supply catalog in the mail. Blick's. I'm not sure why it came to me. I haven't even gotten any photography type mailings in a while.

I shouldn't have looked. It reminded me of all the things I want to do, and have been wanting to do for years. I haven't done any appreciable amount of artworks since my art classes in high school. Since then I've tried to keep drawing. For a while I was down to one good drawing a year, but I haven't done one in... four years, maybe? I started one, but I got in over my head, and gave up. I haven't even gotten out on a photo excursion.

I want to do a scratchboard. And some chalk pastel. And I've got this damn litho stone on my desk.
