"100% juice from concentrate with added ingredients"

That means one of the ingredients is 100% juice.

The ingredients label says: grape juice from concentrate (grape juice concentrate and filtered water), malic acid and natural flavor.

I don't think I've ever heard of malic acid. And I wonder what sort of flavor they added.

AI

I saw AI last week.

It dealt with artificial intelligence (robotic) and its integration into society. It was somewhat thought provoking. If you are interested in a thought provoking movie and can deal with the science fiction theme, you will probably enjoy the movie. On the other hand, if (like me) you are very familiar with the theme of artificial intelligence, you may not find much in the way of new ideas. I think Isaac Asimov would've enjoyed this one.

I do recommend it to most people. The science fiction wasn't too far out there, except for the Spielbergian fantasy stuff.

Watching the previews before the movie, I was reminded of how far removed from popular entertainment I am. I had absolutely no idea what to expect from the movie since I hadn't seen one commercial, clip or review of the movie. I had also forgotten that Tim Burton did Planet of the Apes.

Someone told me that Burton is working on a version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring Marilyn Manson as Wonka. I wonder how close to the original book it will be. I want to read the book before I see that one. Dahl's stories are always sweetened up when they're made into movies. They usually change the endings to happy ones.

[Blonnie has informed me that it was a false rumor about there being a remake of the movie.)

lawsuits

Everyone has an expectation of what will happen in a given car accident. If one is sitting in his car at a stop light, and someone rear-ends him at 25 mph, one expects that the back of his car will get totally messed up, maybe with some irreparable frame damage, and one expects a case of whiplash. If you were in such an accident, and your car's gas tank exploded due to a design flaw, how would you feel about bringing a lawsuit against the car manufacturer? You might seek money to cover your hospital bills, or you might seek more money for (what do they call that?) emotional damages, or you might hope for punitive damges against the company.

Would you seek money? How much and why? Or why not? Might you opt not to, but feel that others are within their rights to do so?

I always knew that the space race was begun when the Russians launched Sputnik, and that the Americans were a bit upset the somebody had beaten them into space. I was talking to a coworker today, who told me that when Sputnik made it into orbit, the people of the United States were held by a mixture of embarrassment, anger and fear. Dennis said (he was seven at the time) his Dad was outraged the the Russians beat us. Our space program had been held up by lack of funding, disinterest and warring factions of scientists.
