That means one of the ingredients is 100% juice.

The ingredients label says: grape juice from concentrate (grape juice concentrate and filtered water), malic acid and natural flavor.

I don't think I've ever heard of malic acid. And I wonder what sort of flavor they added.

Malic Acid: a crystalline dicarboxylic acid C4H6O5; esp: the one of three optical isomers of malic acid that is found in various plant juices and is formed as an intermediate in the Krebs cycle.

Doncha love it when they use the word as part of the definition?! Sounds nummy anyway. It makes me feel even better about it when I see that Malic Acid is followed in the dictionary by "malice" and then "malicious".

And what the heck is the Krebs cycle? It says here: a sequence of reactions in the living organism in which oxidation of acetic acid or acetyl equivalent provides energy for storage in phosphate bonds - called also citric acid cycle, and tricarboxylic acid cycle. Krebs cycle is followed immediately in the dictionary by "kremlin".

it can be hard to find juices that are pure. most brands add coloring to their juices. come to think of it, lots of food has coloring in it. even today, i noticed that the pretzels i was eating had yellow 5 in it. why do pretzels need yellow 5? i wonder if test groups decide what color things should be. did they think that pretzels with yellow 5 looked tastier or better than ones without it?

Pretzels *are* a bit grey without that golden color. I'd still eat them, though.

You know cheddar is the same light cheese color as all the other cheeses you can think of, until they add the orange color (a natural tasteless spice)?
