So Gen Con was only two days. I spent the other two with Cindy. We met a friend (Doug) and his girlfriend (Melissa) for lunch (they were at the Con). That was nice. I hadn't seen her since last August. When we left, I said, "So we'll see you again next year?" She and Doug had broken up for a little while earlier this summer, so I hope she didn't think I was making a reference to that. Anyway,

Cyn and I went CD shopping. I got Goo Goo Dolls A Boy Named Goo, Portishead'sDummy, and The Toadies' Hell Below / Stars Above. She got King Crimson'sCirkus, Radiohead Amnesiac and something by Hawkwind. Crimson and Radiohead were my favorites of all those.

Last night Cyn and I were watching Shakespeare in Love when my mom came over (this was at 10:30). She had locked herself out of her flat. We had to go over and break in. I don't know how to pick locks, so I cut the screen in her bedroom window, and climbed through (fortunately it is a lower flat). We didn't finish watching the movie until tonight. We liked it.

Today, we painted my garage some more. It is over halfway primed. I was hoping to be much farther than this by now. Oh well. I've been kind of putzy about it.

Hmmm...

I must be getting used to this "man of few words" because I didn't even notice the brevity of his movie review until I saw your comment. *L*

I can only speak for myself, but it appeared that he liked the movie at least as much as I did. Some of it was hard to follow, but between the two of us, we kept most of the storyline straight. I thought the costuming was beautiful, and the comedy was deftly done. There were parts that we both agreed were a little unrealistic...like her hiding all that hair under the little wig and then changing clothes and looking perfect within seconds. Then there was the big sword fight with no blood. Not that I like gore, but I like a little realism. The emotions, love, and suspense were all very well done in my opinion.

I enjoyed many of the characters. I love Judi Densch (the Queen).

The writing was excellent, and I wasn't very surprised to see Tom Stoppard's name in the credits. (Ever seen "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead"?)

I think the story was one worthy of Shakepeare's name.

Yeah, that's better, thanks. :)
