It was supposed to be warm today. It started warming up early, so I was looking forward to it, but around noon the wind did a 180, and the breeze was cool coming off the lake. Tomorrow is supposed to be downright cold. We're supposed to get some rain overnight. First rain in a month.
I want to get into shape for walking miles and miles in New York next week, so I've been going out walking at night. Tonight I did 2.8 miles, and 2.1 twice last week. I'm around 16 minutes per mile, or 3.75 miles per hour.
I went to a baseball game last night. I was there to take photos for the ALS Association party. I was to go onto the field to get pictures of their member throwing the first pitch. I was late getting to the field, and it was therefore an ordeal, but I got onto the field with only about a minute to spare! After that I missed some communications with my person, so missed another assignment. I didn't do the greatest job. Oh well. And then the Brewers lost. Oakland scored a run just as I walked into the stadium near my seat. I didn't have my camera ready, or I could have caught a dramatic (and contested) slide into home.
I'm getting the gardens into shape. It's been a lot of work, but there are still things to be done. There are always things to be done.
Last Sunday I drove my mom to Indiana for a funeral. It was OK. Saw a few other relatives. It was my cousin Mike, my mom's favorite nephew, or at least she was his favorite aunt. He and his wife were always the fun ones. The drive was four hours. A little longer going down, shorter coming back.
