The sun sets at 7:30 now. Some of the maple trees are starting to turn.
I visited my mom tonight. Took her for a ride in my newish car. Then hooked up a DVD player.
At dinner time I saw a bunch of nighthawks wheeling around the sky, chasing bugs, like the dragonflies do. That was fun.
Yesterday was kind of a lazy day. We just had gaming in the evening. I went to the park, got my workout (two milw walk, with stairs), and walked on the beach collecting pretty rocks. The day's theme was green rocks.
Saturday was a lot of work. I used my new pressure washer to clean the house and shed. Then I trimmed the lower branches of the birch and locust trees. The locust's branches were getting in my way while mowing. The birch branches are light enough to push out of my way, but I needed to trim them anyway. Plus the block a road sign, so I hope I cleared that a bit.
That evening we visited some acquaintances. He invited us, said to bring some beverages, I guess because he wasn't sure they had what we'd like. Later, she sent an email saying, I heard you're coming over. I'll make snacks." She had a huge spread - cheese, fruit, some kind of sausage bread, stuffed grape leaves in lemon sauce, I don't even know whatall she had. And they had a wide variety of tasty beverages. So that was nice.
Most of August was actually been pretty open. Not much was on our calendar, except for the third week. Things are starting to pick up a little bit again. I now have two member's meetings and two board meetings a month. I've got a couple of whisky things on the calendar. We're going away one weekend.
