I was away on business for a few days. I had to go to Cincinnati or thereabouts. I could have flown, but that would been a bit of a pain. Of course driving is a bit of a pain too. I rented a car. Driving probably took an hour longer, each way, and I still would have to have rented a car for a few days when I got there. I think this was cheaper (for the company) too. Originally I thought I might visit some people along the way, but that didn't happen.

I left after gaming on Sunday night, at 9:15. Stayed in NW Indiana the first night. Got to Florence Kentucky early afternoon on Monday. Toured our plant. Walked around downtown Cincinnati and had dinner there. Was up very early Tuesday to drive to a pet food plant in Columbus. Was up not-as-early today to tour a beer factory. Both were big operations, and cool to see.

I left the plant at 11:15, and got home at 7:30. Seven hours (with a time change). A stop for gas, a stop for food. Half an hour at the whisky store, half an hour in Chicago rush hour traffic.

I've made the trip across Indiana many times (Cincinnati was only another hour beyond), but I followed Google's directions this time. She sent me on the I90 Skyway instead of the bypass. I was skeptical, but I made good time. Just before downtown she told me there was an eight minute delay due to traffic, but just then I stopped at the whisky store. When I came back out, she said it was now a 25 minute delay. So I think that was a good route. But then north of the city, she sent me on a state highway rather than the interstate. I am certain that was not a good call. But then I still got home in seven hours, which is what she told me at the start.

I'm really tired now. Not only did I drive from Ohio today, but I've been up since 6am.
