The last I posted any of my flower petals was June. I've been working on them all summer. I've done leaves, too. But I've been trying new things with the petals.

The coleus leaves look quite interesting.

My purple petunias inexplicably started fading in midsummer. I've never seen them do that, but it was fortuitous for this hobby! The random fade from purple to white made for interesting images.

I tried the white petunias, but they just weren't very interesting. And then I realized I could put the white petunias in front of the purple ones...

But look at this one...

These flower petals refract the light somehow, or transmit it in an unexpected way. I think it has to do with UV light, for pollinators. But the color changes to this deep teal blue. And it has something to do with how the white petals are pressed up against the glass. It changes the light either through contact with the glass or that the cells of the petal are disturbed, or both.

The yellow is the base of the white flower, that turns to green. You can see blotches of blue throughout.

And this one...

I don't quiet remember it, but I think the pink part is the base of the white flower, where it is a tube, with the purple flower behind it. Not entirely sure, though.
Yesterday I tried layering petals from different kinds of flowers together.

Yellow dahlia petals behind white petunia.

Yellow dahlia petals behind purple petunia.

I don't remember what this was. Purple petunia behind yellow dahlia?

This is a purple petunia (I remember because it had white spots) with yellow dahlia, and I think also with white petunia.

And a petal from pink mums in front of white petunia, also with the pink petals behind that.
So it's been interesting!
