Here are all the photos to present...
I forgot to take good "before" pictures. I remembered only after we had the doors off the uppers, and not in good light.

North and east walls. Cindy took the stuff we use often into the dining room, and the rest of it to the basement.

West side of the room. Cabinets are original, plywood. I think there was a remodel done, probably in the late eighties or early nineties. New countertops and hardware at that time, maybe flooring too (otherwise newer). The range came with the house, fridge is ten years old, and dishwasher less. The dining room is through that doorway, beyond the pantry door.

Bill prying the cabinet off the wall after having cut it in half.

That outlet had been screwed to the back wall of the cabinet. It's for the microwave.

The sink and faucet are only a few years old. Note the Sawzall (reciprocating saw) on the counter.

Cutting out the soffit. He stuck the Sawzall into the corners, to cut the drywall, and is now cutting a hole into it, so we can pry them down.

Flexible metal conduit. This was one where there was enough slack that I could cut a slot in the 2x4's to get it behind where the drywall would go.

Where there wasn't enough slack, and I had to cut it and splice some extra in. As a bonus, I didn't have to cut a slot in the face, I could drill a hole and then feed it through.

Insulation wrapped around the exhaust pipe. That insulation was resting on the cardboard, which was the only thing holding it up once we removed the cabinet.

You can see the slot I made, and how the conduit goes behind the drywall.

Here are the four conduits that are all sticking into the space I need them out of. One of them connects with the one I split on the other side of the room. Another goes to the light fixture. The other two (which are going away from the camera), I can only hope there is slack.

After the drywall is on the ceiling. An outlet to replace the one that used to be hanging by its conduit.
