"We were driving up north. We were going through the indian reservation and my buddy had to pee. We were like, 'we're not stopping around here,' and he was like, 'I'm serious! I'm gonna wet my pants!' So we pull over at this bar. We go in , and it was like in the old west movies, where the music stops, and everyone turns to look. There's these three white guys walking into this bar. So my buddy goes into the restroom. We're at the bar, and then he walks out with this big indian guy behind him. They go outside. So we're like, 'oh shit' and we go out. There's my buddy and this big indian standing there looking up. So we're like, 'what's going on?' the big guy turns and says, 'you didn't see the rainbow when you came in?' We're all worried like they're gonna kick our asses, and they're into rainbows!"

Heeheehee!

I can just imagine the conversation in the restroom. The guy's in a stall, and some big indian guy is like, "hey, did you see the rainbow?"
"Um, no?"
"It was really nice. You should go out and look at it."
"Um, okay."
"No, really. Come with me."
"Um, okay?"

That's a great story. Probably because I don't live near a reservation it would have never occurred to me to be hesitant but I guess it depends on the guys in the story. They were guys right? I was just wondering if perhaps the story was changed a little since most guys would opt for the nearest tree or side of the road for a quick relief. :)

Maybe they were in a town?

I think they were nervous enough about going in that he wouildn't hvae made the story up.

(My friend doug made the icon for me from a drawing I made. Sure are a lot of faeries around, huh?)

funny how being in a setting where most of the people are "different" makes even the most enlightened of us nervous. actually, funny is the wrong word, i should have said sad.

Yeah, the whole thing is... wrong.

There are a lot of stories about bad treatment of whites by indians (which is most of what made these guys nervous), but many of them aren't true, I'd imagine, and the ones that are are most likely isolated incidents.

And then there's the fact that prejudicial treatment of us by the native Americans, didn't just happen for no reason, and still isn't as bad as the treatment they get by the whites.
