I took Friday afternoon off, and we went to Chicago for the opening of the gallery show that Cindy is in. There was some really good work there. I was impressed. We took Ravengirl along, and got dinner along the way, so that was fun.
Saturday evening was whisky club. So I spent most of the afternoon putting tasting notes together.
Sunday we went to Milwaukee to pick up some free film. It was part of Free Film : USA. They're giving away rolls of black & white film. We have a few days to shoot 36 photos and drop the film back off for them to develop. I think they'll choose some images to upload to their website, and then may make a book. The theme is "red white & blue". The film is b/w. So I'm kinda stumped as to how to meet this theme.
We had to stop and get batteries for my old film cameras. It was weird shooting film. Every time I took a shot, I looked down at the back of the camera. I had gaming in the evening, so we didn't have time to do much shooting, so that leaves tomorrow night, since we're busy Tuesday, and we have to drop the film off on Wednesday.
They were having a festival in the Third Ward. Under One Moon. Kind of a commemoration of the moon landing, and also kind of a peace thing, I guess. But they had a replica of The Moon. Over 20 feet in diameter, and hanging from a crane, over the square. It lit up at night, but we only saw it during the day.
