Last weekend, we went to Chicago to meet long-time LJ friend Serendipity and her husband. And Ravengirl joined us. We took Mr. Serendipity to the beach, to see a Great Lake. Then went downtown and took a walk around Milennium Park. Then a bar to have a drink and talk some more, then an Ethopian restaurant. It was a good day.It had been four years since we'd seen Seren, and Ravengirl had never met her in person.
Today, Cindy and I drove down there to drop her picture off at a gallery. We found the place OK, but she had trouble finding where it was in the building. We hadn't decided where we would go after that, so we thought we'd wing it. Cyn found a brewpub somewhere in that area. It took a bit to get to, and then it took forever to find a place to park. We walked about ten minutes, only to find it hadn't opened yet. I kinda wanted to walk around The Loop, but it was hot, and I think there was a festival at the lake.
Then we stopped at Binny's to pick out some whisky. It was more difficult to choose than I expected. Then to another Binny's store to pick up a whisky for a friend. And I got one more, since this place had a bigger selection than the other. Then we walked across the street to Goose Island Brewery and had dinner. Home before 7:00.
Next Friday we're going down again for the gallery opening. And again at some point when the show closes, to pick up her work.
