What's Happening June-July 2001
Hi Fans,
Observant fans among you may already be aware that we have recently
(late May) celebrated our 20th anniversary as a band. We celebrated by
ignoring it and not mentioning it during our concerts. This is to
demonstrate our resolute uncommercialism.
Other recent activity: We recorded a new version of the "Sponge Bob
Square Pants" song for Nickelodeon. That and it's accompanying video
will be seen on Nickelodeon in the near future.
We have released an Mp3 only album on http://www.emusic.com/ This has
become the biggest seller on EMusic. We would like to thank EMusic for
getting our tunes out to the public. For more info regarding the album
which is called "Something's Wrong" check out http://www.emusic.com/
Other activity on the recording front. Rhino has reissued our first two
albums "Violent Femmes" and "Hallowed Ground". They were regrettably out
of print for a while.
The "Rock!!!!!" album has also been re-released by various record
companies in different territories.
Victor DeLorenzo and Brian Ritchie have scoured the archives for rare
studio and live tracks from the era predating the recording of our first
album i.e. 1981 and 1982. We'll be looking around for someone to put
that out so listeners can hear what the band sounded like at it's
inception.
Otherwise there is nothing of interest to report.s
Regards,
VF
